SEEDS STL Meet and Greet

We are excited to invite you to our first ESA SEEDS STL city-wide mixer.

Hello fellow ecologists and environmental folks,

We are excited to invite you to our first ESA SEEDS STL city-wide mixer. The Ecological Society of America SEEDS (Strategies in Ecology Education and Sustainability) Program is aimed at engaging students from marginalized and underrepresented backgrounds (in STEM) with hands-on opportunities and experiences in ecology and environmental fields. As we have recently established the first nationally-recognized SEEDS chapter for St. Louis at WashU, we are attempting to build community across campuses and work towards a chapter that is truly representative of the diverse community of ecologists, environmentalists, earth scientists, and the like that exists in our city.

Through our mixer we are hoping to have a space where students, faculty, and other professionals can meet and connect with others who share similar interests, backgrounds, and passions. There is much happening within the environmental sphere in the city and this is a space where we aim to cultivate connections and build relationships for a better integrated community. Furthermore, we would like to build a strong foundation for SEEDS STL that involves student leaders and partners from multiple campuses.

All that being said, we'd be delighted if you joined us for our mixer on March 9 from 5-9pm on WashU's Danforth Campus. It will be located in Malinckrodt (where Edison Theatre is located) on the south side of Danforth Campus closest to Forsyth (see campus map).

We look forward to meeting you and having a great evening of conversation and fellowship! Please spread the word and RSVP if you plan to attend.

Best, Kayla Wallace and Lawton Blanchard
